Top product and service. Will not go anywhere else for car security
The product has a very strong adhesive - excellent. Because of this it does not come off the anti-static sheet that sits in between this and the windscreen so when you need to change it you have to discard the whole setup. Unfortunately the replacement mount does NOT come with a replacement anti-static sheet which means you cannot fix this to the windscreen - please think about this Drivevision for product and CX improvement.
On 3 January 2026 I had a collision with a child (about 11 years old) on a bicycle who rode out from between two park cars onto the road in front of me, with 2 metres warning. He was wearing no helmet. Fortunately, I only hit the front wheel of his bicycle, and he didn't even fall off, so no injury.
I stopped and helped straighten his front wheel. Then he rode off. Wouldn't give me his name or address and I didn't push it. The photo from the dashcam clearly shows the photo of the child and his bike.
My Drivevision dashcam showed every moment and the rear vision camera showed he was okay. Thank goodness. I am not sharing the dashcam video to maintain privacy of the child.
I'd say if he was half a second earlier the result could have been a whole lot worse.
I did report this to the police, although there was no need to do so. The dashcam video is my protection of no wrongdoing. Now they have a record I was driving within the speed limit and how close the child came to serious injury. I hope the police can identify the child and educate him and his family.
Camera works as advertised. My camera is hard-wired. There are 4 issues we have experienced in using it which can be resolved with further design evolution.
We are very happy with the setup but suggest that the following be looked at.
1. The camera runs very hot and you can feel the heat through the plastic.
This occurs when the vehicle is running and camera live and occurs even in the shade so its not the Sun doing it.
I have concerns for the longativity of the device. Heat and electronics do not mix well.
2. The camera clearly picks up internal reflections off the windscreen on the video.
This is because the camera could be too far away from the windscreen. Solution? The mount could be modified to allow the camera to be positioned closer to the glass.
3. May we suggest the clips on the mount that hold the camera could be a bit more bigger and robust.
Our camera vibrated loose and dropped when we were on rough gravels roads.
4. The biggest issue.
The split cable that plugs into the camera creates a real issue trying to tuck this extra cable behind the moulding.
You cannot tuck the rear cable plug connection behind the moulding at all.
This could be entirely fixed by extending the thicker cable coming from the camera at least 1.5 metres and then have all the plug connections for the second cable at the end where it can be hidden behind the dash or lower kick panels in the vehicle.
You just have the single cable coming from the camera that can then be successfully tucked behind the windscreen moulding.
Cheers
The original front mount came off due to the heat melting the glue resulting in the camera falling onto the dashboard.
Having contacted the supplier they arranged for a free replacement to be shipped to me. It arrived last week and I have installed it and remounted the camera. Will see how long this one will stay on, hopefully for a long time
Can’t fault their response to get the situation rectified.
The obvious trick to mounting the dashcam is, of course, to thoroughly clean the screen with isopropyl alcohol, then after fitting the mounting bracket, leave it to set for 24 hours before mounting the camera.
IS THE THE REAR CAMERA ABLE TO ROTATE ALSO BE WHEN
I INTALLED THE UNIT IT WAS UPSIDE DOWN NO ISSUE IF I EVER DOWN LOAD PICTURES I CAN ROTATE THE IMAGE ON PC ITS GREAT AND EASY WITH THE 12V ADAPTOR I FOUND WHEN PLUGGED THE ADAPTOR LIGHT NOT WORKING NOT A BIG ISSUE THE CAMERA STILL GETS POWER ON THE APP WHEN VIEWING IT FREEZES SOME TIMES OTHER THAN THAT BEST CAMERA EVER HAD I HAD ALL THE DEAR ONES NOTHING BUT TROUBLE WITH THEIR APPS AWAYS HAVE TO RESET NOT YOURS THATS WHY I GOT IT THANKS SERVICE IS GREAT THANKS ALAN
Front cam mount has cery fragile plastic bits . Be gentle on installation. I had to buy a replacement mount because I accidentally broke my mount clips during installation.
